How To Prevent Hamstring Strain by using Kinesio Tape
Make Sure the area is smooth and all hair is removed from the hamstring area. A little secret Dr. Sedicum likes to use is some Sport Pre-Tape! This ensures that the Kinesio Tape will not fall off and can help you go that extra mile without worrying about your tape falling off!
Step 2:
Cut 2 Pieces of Kinesio Tape about 2/3 the length of your thigh and round the edges. Create a anchor tab about 2 inches from one of the top edges of the Kinesio Tape and start the anchor edge at the bottom of your thigh! This will help with applying the tape and making it extra tight!
Step 3:
Straighten your thigh and start the application of the tape at the bottom of thigh and top of your knee and continue all the way up to the sit bone where the Hamstring originates.
*Make sure you rub the tape down because the Kinesio Tape is Heat Activated**
Step: 4
Keep your thigh tight and on the other side of the knee use the other piece of Kinesio Tape to pull tight the hamstring and rub the tape until it is tight on the upper part of your thigh near the back of your leg. It should feel good and give you support!
Step: 5
At the point of the pain cut a smaller piece of tape and place it horizontal just below the point of the pain across the other two pieces to make sure the pain is neutralized.
At the point of the pain cut another smaller piece of tape and place it horizontal just above the point of the pain across the other two pieces to make sure the pain is in the center of the four pieces of tape.
